About the Owner
Jamel Lister
Jamel grew up on a sailboat with his family and has had over 18 years of experience as a professional rigger. His first word was, “boat!”.
Jamel started sailing on a Siris when he was only a few weeks old. His family then purchased a Bayfield 32, named Rainbow Connection, left Canada and moved to Florida/The Bahamas where his fascination with boats and sailing continued to grow.
In 2005 at the age of seventeen, he became a commercial fisherman in Alaska for the summer salmon season. In the fall he started with Mack Sails in Florida and worked full time learning the rigging trade. Summer of 2008 he went back to Alaska for the fishing season and spends the summers fishing and working as a rigger in the winters.
Now he has shifted his focus to Lister Marine Inc., founded in 2018.
